Menopause Guide for Healthcare Professionals

·

Dear colleagues and friends,

The Hellenic Society of Climacterium and Menopause was founded in 1989 and is a non-profit scientific organization aimed at promoting the health and quality of life of women over 40, as well as preventing chronic diseases related to menopause. Every three years, the Society organizes the Panhellenic Congress on Climacterium and Menopause, along with intermediate seminars and symposia for physicians of all specialties, as well as for all health science professionals who are clinically involved with menopause-related issues.

As part of these goals, we decided to publish a menopause guide for healthcare professionals, which will provide practical guidelines for the diagnosis, prevention, and management of the most common clinical problems related to menopause. Our goal was to summarize the problems encountered by a woman: 1) during the final phase of her reproductive life, 2) during the transition to menopause, and 3) during her postmenopausal life.

We present simple and understandable diagnostic algorithms, along with management proposals for these problems in daily clinical practice. The authoring team consists of distinguished scientists with excellent academic and clinical expertise in the chapters they contributed. We hope that this guide will be a valuable resource in the care of the aging woman.
